With so many options to choose from selecting a foundation to match your skin tone is a daunting task. Fear no more. New technology is coming to the cosmetics sales. The color specialist Pantone is teaming up with LVMH’s beauty authority Sephora to find a tool to help women find the right foundation. This was a skill until today that was limited to brick-and-mortar store make-up artists. Sephora + Pantone are introducing a handheld device in more than 800 Sephora stores that takes 27 images of various parts of your face, from three different angels, and average them to precise foundation that you need. They called the system Color IQ. If you ever tried to match a foundation to your skin tone, you know how hard it is to do inside a store with bright lights. Not only that the device eliminates bright lights and color distortions, but also take into consideration freckles and discolorations. It assigns a skin tone number after analysis from more than 1,800 foundations that Sephora offer. The whole process takes only few seconds.

Customers who used the system are thrilled about the results they got. They say the foundation matches were perfect. Who would have thought a computer to pick your foundation?
