You do not have to spend a fortune on cosmetics to have healthy glowing skin. Your lifestyle and the food you eat can so wonders for you, not only for your skin, but your overall health. So what foods promote beautiful skin?

Citrus foods:

The vitamin C in citrus helps the body develop collagen, the protein that forms the basic structure of your skin. The breakdown of collagen leaves the skin wrinkly and saggy. Regular intake of citrus fruits will help prevent wrinkles.

Nuts:

The vitamin E in nuts moisturizes the skin leaving it soft and supple while protecting the skin from sun damage.

Whole grains:

The Biotin in whole grains will prevent the skin from drying and becoming scaly, while the reduced insulin production will help prevent acne.

Seafood:

The Omega 3 fatty acids found in fish such as salmon help reduce dryness and inflammation which cause the skin to age faster while the Zinc helps fight acne by reducing production of acne causing sebum.

Red and green vegetables:

The beta carotenes in veggies like carrot and sweet potato are converted in to vitamin A which prevents cell damage which prevents premature aging. Green leafy vegetables contain vitamin A as well.
